This activity supports visual planning, thought organization and cognition, fine motor, grasp , writing, and emotional expression, and social skills.
SUPPLIES: T-shirt, T-shirt paints, cardboard, and a pencil. You may also want to have some paper towels and swabs or tooth picks on hand to correct or blend in errors.
DIRECTIONS: Place shirt outstretched in front of you and take a pencil to draw your picture (Pencil marks will wash out). Place a piece of cardboard between the 2 layers of the shirt so that the paint will not bleed thru to the back of the shirt. Once your pattern is drawn, choose your colors and squeeze them out of the paint containers. Let it dry (approx. 6-8 hours) and then it is ready to wear.
TIPS: This activity works well with all ages. For younger clients, you will want to have some drawn up simple ideas such as a sunshine face or flower.
