Line awareness is important and this is an activity that assists with letting that happen. This is a simple activity that makes measuring progress easy.

DIRECTIONS: Place colored paper pieces on a line with a glue stick. Tell kids that the shape must touch the top of the line.
OPTIONS: For encouraging speech, have client say a sound or word before placing each paper piece on. You may even have the word or letter already written on the colored paper pieces in advance. You may also choose to use a line out of yarn or glitter to keep interest and add a sensory component.
